Our Security Officers at this large camp in the Squamish area are responsible for detecting and deterring activities that could result in harm to, or loss of, project personnel, assets, equipment, environment, or reputation. The project’s security program is in place to protect people, assets, and the operations of the project from a broad variety of threats and hazards which can result in harm and losses. These threats and hazards could be related to careless behavior, accidents, errors, crime, or unethical and unprofessional conduct.
•Access Control: 100% verification checks will be conducted of all persons and vehicles entering sites.
•ETMP Verification: Verification of all equipment, tools and material leaving site via the ETMP process
•Inspections and Searches: Cursory inspections will be conducted of all persons, vehicles, equipment, and cargo entering the site. Detailed searches will be conducted at random, or for cause – including of personal property, vehicles, on site
•Patrols: Random mobile patrols will be conducted of all perimeters, work sites, docks, laydowns and facilities on the lease. Foot patrols may be conducted of specific buildings and facilities, especially after normal work hours.
•ID and Badging: All persons and vehicles entering the site will be required to be registered with the Project and provided an ID card/badge or vehicle pass before entering site. They will use this ID badge to electronically scan on and off site.
•Traffic Enforcement: Radar and other means will be utilized to enforce traffic regulations
•Enforcement of Policies: All Project policies will be enforced through a combination of specific security operations
•Traffic Control: This may be required during peak traffic periods, at the scene of incidents, during movement of oversized loads, and at other times (ex. site evacuations)
•Emergency/Security Dispatch: 24/7 communication of incidents
•Incident Response: Attend and lead security incidents or other site emergencies, and conduct investigations as needed
•Statistics: Security will collect statistics on a wide variety of activities and topics
Requirements:
•Excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
•BC Security License
•Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License would be an asset
•Physical ability to stand and/or patrol for the majority of a shift
•Ability to interact and build strong working relationships with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency services
•A passion for being active; your patrols may be indoors or outdoors, in all weather conditions, and can include stairwells, and uneven surfaces
•Experience and ability to approach and lead in emergency situations, which may include trauma, aggression, intoxication, bodily fluids, etc.
•Basic proficiency with technology, including writing reports on a computer, tracking patrols in a smartphone, and communicating via two-way radio
And it’s an asset if you have any further certifications, such as CSTS 2020, PCST, or OFA1!
Additional Information
•All shifts will be 12-hours and on a 2-week on, 2-week off rotation
•Accommodations will be provided during your two weeks on shift
•Pay Rate: $292.50 daily, including overtime
