This is a permanent full-time position tied to the KPMG office located at 3100 205 5th Avenue SW, Calgary.
The salary range for this role is $73,000 to $110,000 and includes eligibility for incentive compensation. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. KPMG offers a comprehensive flexible benefits program, as well as paid vacation and a pension plan.

Multinational enterprise conducting business globally is presented tremendous challenges and opportunities because of the growing complexity of cross-border tax rules and legislative changes. Our US Corporate Tax practice assists organizations in deciding which US corporate structure will be the most effective from a tax perspective – subsidiary, branch, or joint-venture partnership; assists clients in choosing effective methods of capitalization and financing that are efficient; assists clients with cross-border tax planning, repatriation strategies, and the US tax compliance requirements.
We’re looking for someone with an interest in US taxation and an entrepreneurial spirit who believes relationships in both business and community have been central to their success to join our growing practice and continue to build their personal brand as a significant trusted business advisor in our community .
What you will do
- Research, analyze, advise and writing reports on a wide variety of U.S. and cross-border tax issues
- Advising Canadian multinational companies on U.S. tax planning and minimization opportunities, including restructurings, due diligence, transaction structuring for tax issues, repatriation and exit strategy, and financial modeling
- Corporate M&A, private equity, post deal integration, bankruptcy and corporate insolvency
- Providing ongoing support to the partners and mentoring for the professional development of staff
- Work with other services lines and office members in attracting new work to the firm
What you bring to the role
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an accounting firm or law firm required, preferably in US tax advisory position
- Education required: Masters of Law or Masters of Tax
- Accreditation preferred: US CPA designation or Enrolled Agent
- Minimum 1 year experience mentoring and training junior team members demonstrating strong people management and leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills demonstrated through delivering presentations and/or client communications
- Excellent client service skills demonstrated through 2-3 years experience working directly with clients and providing business solutions
- Experience managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously with the ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities
- Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth
