  • What you’ll do

    Position Title:SAP iXp Intern – DevOps Engineer

    Location: Vancouver, BC

    Expected Start Date: 6 January 2025

    Contract Duration: 8 months

    Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

    • Operate enterprise scale multi-cloud applications within a Cloud DevOps culture
    • Focus on live-site operations processing customer tickets while delivering continuous improvement projects to minimize customer impact
    • Proactively identify and propose automation solutions to routine tasks such as scaling, back-ups, or monitoring
    • Review and analyze monitoring dashboards and performance metrics to identify potential issues
    • Respond to alerts and utilize critical thinking skills to solve issues
    • Share and contribute knowledge to the team through retrospective meetings and knowledge sharing sessions
    • Update documentation and communicate improved processes to the global operations team

    What you bring

    We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

    • A current student in computer science or a similar discipline
    • Basic knowledge of scripting e.g. Python, shell, bash
    • Basic familiarity with at least one cloud infrastructure platform, e.g. AWS, Azure or GCP
    • Comfortable working with Linux and Windows operating systems
    • Ability to proactively identify gaps in processes and propose solutions
    • Able to apply critical thinking skills to understand the root cause of issues
    • Passionate about automation and making the computers do the work for you
    • Able to work within a global team, embracing different perspectives and cultures
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Efficiently and calmly operate under pressure in emergency situations
    • Strong customer focus, service minded and experience in handling customer escalations

    We are a global DevOps team focused on supporting the Integration Suite of products within SAP. You will be joining a team in Vancouver dedicated to providing live site support and continuous improvement projects to ensure highly available and resilient products to our global customers.

SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 24-40 CAD.
