Job Summary
The Team
The Student Information and Education Insights team is a collaborative, skilled group dedicated to supporting digital systems that enhance educational outcomes across B.C. This established team includes a Director, project manager, client engagement lead, business analyst, and a secondee from a public school district, working together to govern the development of MyEducation BC, Education Insights, and the Course Registry. You will be part of a supportive environment that values open communication and diverse perspectives, allowing the team to navigate challenges with humor and care while driving positive change across the province’s education system.
The Role
As the Client Relations Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting educators, administrators, and students across B.C. by making technical information accessible, creating engaging bulletins, and managing clear communication for MyEducation BC. You will translate technical information for non-technical audiences, onboard new schools, support sector engagements, and co-manage the MyEducation BC inbox. This role offers unique opportunities to lead the planning of MyEducation BC Academy, strengthen relationships across the education sector, and gain valuable experience in client engagement, executive communications, and project coordination-all while making a meaningful impact in B.C.’s education system.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media relations in a large technical environment.
• Experience communicating complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Experience in event coordination.
Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
• Additional years of experience in any of the above requirements.
• Experience working in a technical environment.
• Experience working with pre-K and K-12 education partners and interested parties.
• Experience developing materials for sensitive partner engagements.
• Experience working in the BC Public Service.
Proviso:
• Travel may be required on an occasional basis.

About this Position:
Currently there is one (1) temporary opportunity available until July 31, 2025 in Victoria or Vancouver.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement. Victoria has two building locations, both with space to accommodate in-office work. The Vancouver office may be accessed for limited drop-in use.
A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
