Just HR ( a Horizon company) is seeking an experienced?Payroll Compliance Data Analyst?on a short-term 2 month fully remote contract to assess and verify the accuracy of historical vacation pay practices, ensuring compliance with provincial labor laws. The consultant will be responsible for conducting a thorough review and analysis of payroll data, with the end goal of producing a clear, detailed report for executive leadership that either confirms compliance or outlines corrective actions as necessary.

Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of historical payroll data related to vacation pay, focusing on compliance with provincial labor law.
  • Extract, manipulate, and manage large datasets to identify any discrepancies or gaps in vacation pay calculations.
  • Verify that vacation pay records align with established HR practices and provincial compensation requirements.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Human Resources to clarify data-related inquiries and refine analysis methods as needed.
  • Prepare a structured report, complete with backup documentation, that details findings on the accuracy and compliance of vacation pay records.
  • Present and explain findings to the VP of HR and other executives, offering insights and recommendations for any remedial actions.
  • Ensure data confidentiality and integrity throughout the analysis process.
  • Be available for regular communication over Teams, with potential for one in-person meeting upon project completion to review the final report.

Required Skills:

  • Payroll Systems Expertise: Proficiency with payroll data extraction and analysis, ideally within Ceridian, UKG, or similar platforms.
  • Data Management & Analysis: Strong skills in data manipulation, ensuring accuracy and integrity in report creation.
  • HR & Compensation Knowledge: Familiarity with HR practices and provincial labor law as they relate to vacation pay and broader compensation practices.
  • Compliance Insight: Understanding of total rewards structures and compliance standards to support meaningful analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly document findings and explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Availability: Remote-friendly, with availability for regular updates via Teams and one final in-person presentation, if required.

Remuneration:

  • Hourly rate: $80 hr, dependant upon overall data analysis skills and experience.
