Welcome to our dynamic and dedicated Visiting Specialists Clinic (VSC) team in the Health Care Programs department, where we take pride in our approach to ensuring top-notch care delivery and clinical outcomes for WorkSafeBC’s injured workers. Our team plays a pivotal role in operating an expedited onsite multi-specialty medical clinic. Join us as we continue to make a positive impact on the intersection of healthcare and technology.
We’re looking for a highly motivated Co-op Student, to join our Visiting Specialists Clinic in the Health Care Programs department.
This is an eight-months full-time positions starting in January 2025.
H ow you’ll make a difference: You’ll help us strive towards our vision of supporting injured workers’ recovery and return to work.
Where you’ll work
In this role, you will be working from our Richmond, BC head office every day. Some opportunity for a hybrid work environment exists, but based on operational needs, as directed by your manager.
What you’ll do
On Day 1 in this role, you will get a chance to meet your manager and get acquainted with your team. You will spend time setting up administrative and technological essentials, and completing onboarding tasks, including security and payroll setup.
Throughout Week 1, you will be partnered with your mentor for training, work on completing training modules and immersing yourself in the team and the department’s work. Together with your manager, you will clarify your role’s goals and how to achieve them.
After week 1, you will assist the team with the planning and implementation of various projects including health technologies and quality systems. You will also be assisting the team with ongoing implementation and adoption of electronic and quality systems and working with different teams and stakeholders across the organization.
- Assist with preparing project documents including tracking progress and status updates,
- Assist with mapping workflows and documenting requirements,
- Assist with preparing training and communication materials,
- Helping with hands on training (scheduling, administrative duties as assigned, etc.),
- Performing duties as assigned.

Your background and experience
- 3rd or 4th year student, enrolled in business administration, health care, communication program or similarly related program
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Working knowledge of SharePoint is an asset

Before we can finalize any offer of employment, you must:
- Confirm you’re legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of the work term
- Confirm you reside in BC for the duration of the work term
- Confirm you’re a registered student at a post-secondary institution and is participating in a work integrated learning program
