Job Summary

The Team
The Facilities team, led by the Director of Facility Operations, consists of 10 dedicated professionals who oversee the management of facilities across Victoria and the Lower Mainland. Working closely with project managers, building maintenance, security, and Citizen Services’ Real Property Division, the team ensures that all Ministry of Health staff have a safe, accessible, and functional working environment. The Role
As Director of Facility Operations, you will lead the planning and execution of facility upgrades, space planning, and daily operations, ensuring that essential services like security, heating, lighting, and elevator systems run smoothly. You’ll collaborate with various ministry divisions and Citizen Services to oversee office relocations, renovations, and building upgrades. In this role, you’ll oversee facilities procurement, and ensure that financial resources are used effectively. With a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, you’ll ensure that the facilities meet the evolving needs of clients while maintaining a safe and functional environment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Public or Business Administration, or equivalent. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience managing a portfolio of clients in a customer service environment, monitoring performance standards and maintaining service levels.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the supervision of staff, performance management and workload planning.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a work environment leading both operational and project-based service delivery to multiple clients.
  • Experience in a facilities environment.
  • Experience establishing collaborative relationships with senior client managers.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.

Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
