SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, the Payroll Clerk processes payroll, tracks staff leave, completes basic reporting, and ensures that staff have appropriate benefits. This position functions within the context of tight time-lines, frequent interruptions and demands from staff, and is required to independently process complex payroll, benefits, and leave for a large staffing compliment.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree or 2 year post-secondary diploma
• Minimum 3 years’ full-time experience in payroll or accounting
• Experience and/or training in spreadsheet and payroll software
• Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is an asset
• Must be eligible to work with vulnerable adults, under the BC Criminal Record Review program
• Negative TB Screen
• Successful candidates will be required to report their vaccination status

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES / DELIVERABLES
1) Performs payroll services for the Broadmead Care Society by
• Set up and maintenance of payroll files
• Review and update daily timesheets
• Enters data for new and terminating employees, and changes for existing employees
• Answer and process daily inquiries from employees received from email
• Verifies and reconciles payroll information such as hours worked, wage rates, and deductions
• Ensures proper payment of overtime per collective agreements
• Prepare payroll file before to send for final review and commit within payroll system
• Tracks STIIP, graduated returns to work, etc.

2) Supports benefits and leave management
• Review year-end rollover of leaves
• Benefits administration: liaison with providers and employees; enroll, update, and terminate employees’ benefits.

3) Reporting, record keeping and clerical services
• Provides wage loss information to ICBC, Worksafe, and others
• Maintain confidential filing
• Maintain absolute confidentiality and security of confidential material and records
• Maintain records such as statutory holidays, vacation taken, sick banks, special leave banks

4) Other
• Follows all policies and procedures of Broadmead Care now and as they are developed
• Performs other duties as required

• The work is characterized by multiple demands, interruptions and time sensitive deadlines. The incumbent must be able to work accurately and efficiently within this environment.
