Job Summary

The Team
The Policy Unit within the System Integrity Branch oversees the policy and legislation that governs private training institutions in BC. This established team, made up of a Director, Senior Policy Analyst, and two Policy Analysts, works collaboratively with staff across certification, compliance, program review, and student support. Their work helps regulate private training institutions in British Columbia and provide consumer protection to students.

The Role
As a Policy Analyst, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of student data reported by private training institutions, preparing detailed reports and analyses, and contributing to policy development. Your work will directly support better decision-making and protect students, while also ensuring institutions receive the guidance they need. This is a great opportunity to combine data and policy analysis in a fast-paced setting, and to be part of meaningful regulatory changes that enhance education quality and fairness in BC.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience managing projects
  • Experience writing a variety of information materials (e.g. reports, briefing notes, correspondence, etc.)

Preference may be given to applicants who have any of the following:

  • Experience in researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis
  • Experience working for a regulatory authority or policy analysis and development for government
  • Experience in creating spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, data tables and charts
  • Experience in data analysis in Microsoft Excel and database management

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is a temporary opportunity until April 30, 2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.
