Job Summary

The Team
The Prince Rupert Court Administration is an established and close-knit team of professionals who bring diverse expertise to their work. Our team, which includes court clerks, a registry supervisor, Justice of the Peace/Registry Technicians, and court administration, collaborates to ensure access to justice and provide timely service. The Role
Step into a fulfilling role where you’ll handle a wide range of tasks, from helping ensure smooth court operations to managing trust funds, scheduling interpreters, and maintaining accurate records. Your contributions will play an important role in providing access to justice, offering friendly and competent service to all who rely on us. This is a fast-paced environment where no two days are alike, providing the opportunity to work with a dedicated team and make a meaningful impact every day.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative support or customer service experience OR
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with clerical duties, office experience or related education.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a cashier or in a cash handling role. Accounting training and/or education may also be considered.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Valid B.C. drivers’ licence.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).
  • Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.
  • One year of previous work experience in a legal environment.
  • Post-secondary education in business administration or business courses.

PROVISOS:

  • May be required to work flexible hours, including varied shifts and overtime on short notice.
  • May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas, including circuit court locations. Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others.
  • May be required to use personal vehicle.
