The Team
The Analytics Delivery team designs, builds and maintains data and analytics products used by all levels of the organization to drive strategy and decision making. The team focuses on delivering reusable, governed and intuitive self serve analytics capabilities to the organization. In essence, the team brings data to life using compelling visualizations and storytelling to deliver insights that drive the business forward.
The Role
The Analyst, Analytics Delivery 3 develops, implements, maintains, and supports business intelligence and analytics solutions. As an expert in business intelligence and mentoring others, the Analyst, Analytics Delivery 3 is a consultative partner to both internal and external stakeholders, providing education, guidance, and recommendations for improvement, and for bringing new concepts and methods to the Data and Analytics Practice. This role demonstrates a high degree of business acumen,
What you will accomplish
- Build visually compelling, accessible, intuitive analytics products, including interactive dashboards and custom insight presentations.
- Define guidelines, design standards, release processes, metrics, and accountability framework for analytics product delivery, including collaboration with Data Integration Developers,
- Product Owners, and other internal stakeholders.
- Create and maintains technical documentation for analytics products, user documentations and guides.
- Coach and provide training to the team on business intelligence methods, visualization techniques and storytelling and lead the development of a cross functional Analytics centre of excellence.
- Leads and participate in technology centers of excellence (COE) and/or communities of practice (COP) and grows the practice and data literacy of the organization.
What will make you successful
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, such as Business Analytics, Information Technology, Marketing, Business Analysis, or Statistics;
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in development of data and analytic solutions, including a minimum of 3 years proven technical experience working within a complex business environment with the demonstrated ability to analyze business situations and develop innovative solutions
- Knowledge and experience with data governance, data management, and information technology systems and tools;
- Enhanced knowledge and experience with developing visualizations that are accessible and easy to digest, tailored to a diverse audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Expert in working with relational and multi-dimensional databases, applications, large and complex data;
- Expert understanding and experience with database query and analysis languages (SQL, Python, BigQuery), data visualization software (Qlik/Tableau/Power BI/Looker) and Cloud Data Platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Matillion)
- You can write technical documentation, including reports and procedures.
- You have a passion for making things better and improving processes and systems.
It would be awesome if you also had
- You have worked in an agile atmosphere before.
- You understand the B.C. gaming industry.
- You understand advanced analytics (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning).
- You have worked in a cloud-first environment before and understand cloud infrastructure and cloud data warehousing
- You can effectively communicate complex analytics solutions to non-technical people.
- Microsoft office doesn’t scare you, you can utilize Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
