Job Summary

The Team
The established Strategic Financial Services team is a collaborative group of 6-8 professionals, including financial analysts and directors, dedicated to enhancing the financial landscape of the health sector. We focus on providing financial enablement support for ministry initiatives, ensuring budget alignment and sustainable funding. Our team’s work informs key decision-makers and plays a vital role in improving cost management and reporting systems, ultimately supporting health system improvements for all British Columbians. The Role
As Director, Health Funding Reform,you will be responsible for providing essential financial analysis and support for ministry initiatives, ensuring budget alignment and sustainable funding. Your work will directly impact the health system by improving cost management and reporting capacity, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes for all British Columbians. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Accounting designation (CPA) or bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, economics or other related field (ie: financial management) and a minimum five (5) years of recent, related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or recent experience may be considered.

Recent related experience must be within the last eight (8) years and include a minimum of five (5) years experience in three or more of the following areas:

  • Experience in financial analysis and/or policy analysis, financial management and project management.
  • Experience in business case development and analysis, contract management and managing multi-disciplinary professional and technical staff.
  • Experience providing information and/or recommendations through verbal and written briefings for senior executive and preparing documents, presentations and reports that are timely, clear, complete and accurate for senior executive.
  • Experience establishing collaborative relationships with executives and stakeholders; and leading organizational change associated with implementation.
  • Experience negotiating/mediating solutions in a public sector environment.

Preference may be given to candidates with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Additional experience beyond the listed minimum requirements.
  • A master’s degree in business administration or public administration.
  • Experience working in a public health financial sector.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
