Job Summary

The Team
Our Tri Cities Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Team consists of a team of clinicians and 1 Team Leader. Our passionate and experienced team are master’s or doctorate trained professionals. We provide services to support children and youth (aged 0-19) who are experiencing mental health issues. We work collaboratively with children, youth and their parents/caregivers to support mental wellness. Additionally, we partner closely with schools, community service providers and healthcare providers. We are a supportive and dynamic team who enjoy opportunities to collaborate with each other, increase our knowledge and clinical skills, and provide a high quality of service to our clients.

The Role
In these roles, you will provide direct clinical services, including intake, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for children, youth, and families. You will collaborate with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs while conducting individual, group, and family therapy. Your work will support mental health and wellness and positive outcomes within the community of Tri Cities. As part of this team of dedicated and compassionate professionals, you will make a lasting impact on the lives of young people and their families.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level, or equivalent.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services. Applicants with less than one year of experience may be considered if the applicant has completed a practicum within CYMH, but at a lower classification.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
  • Applicants with work experience with Early Psychosis Intervention, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, or infant and early childhood.

About this Position:
There are currently 6 positions available:

  • 3 permanent full-time positions located in the Tri Cities location (Port Moody)
  • 1 temporary full-time position until September 2025 in New Westminster
  • 1 temporary part-time position until July 2025 in New Westminster
  • 1 permanent part-time (35 hours bi-weekly) in New Westminster

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home 1 day a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
