Job Summary:

BMO Global Asset Management is looking for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Director, Strategic Account Management. In this senior role, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing relationships with our largest institutional client, promoting BMO GAM’s comprehensive product platform, and driving client education and engagement. This position offers a unique opportunity to act as a strategic partner to our clients and collaborate across internal teams to support business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships, acting as a strategic advisor.
  • Provide consultative advice by understanding needs and challenges.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries, ensuring they have access to portfolio managers and product specialists as needed.
  • Develop rapport and instill confidence with clients to enhance credibility and trust.
  • Foster a culture of superior customer satisfaction to maximize retention and growth.

Business Development & Strategy:

  • Promote BMO GAM’s product platform, offering insights into market trends, product innovations, and industry developments.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve desired business results, including annual territory planning.
  • Enhance BMO GAM’s brand presence through thought leadership, client education, and participation in client events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support business development efforts, including preparing investment proposals and participating in meetings.

Thought Leadership & Engagement:

  • Actively participate in conferences and events to promote BMO GAM’s expertise and thought leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by developing a deep understanding of business challenges and offering solutions.
  • Network with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and best practices, contributing to the development of integrated business strategies.

Performance Monitoring & Improvement:

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and procedures by identifying potential gaps and providing recommendations on product launches and initiatives.
  • Collaborate across BMO GAM to ensure consistency in messaging and strategic execution.

Sales & Service Support:

  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Deliver product and industry training, providing technical expertise for all aspects of investment management.
  • Identify business needs and develop tools and training programs to support client service.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster trust and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically in institutional sales or client management.
  • CFA designation required.
  • Proven track record in client management, business development, and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Expert analytical, problem-solving, and influence skills.
  • Strong collaboration and team skills, with a focus on cross-functional partnerships.

Working Conditions: Travel is required to meet client needs and support business development activities.

Salary :

$109,200.00 – $202,800.00

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
