As part of the South Cariboo Woods staff, you will maintain and develop an integrated Information System utilizing ArcGIS (Desktop and Web), ArcSDE, and an Oracle database. The position will also include analyzing strategic and operational planning projects.

You’ll Do:

  • Maintenance & quality control of spatial data in Land and Resource Manager (LRM) for the Woods Department
  • Prepare & submit digital data to the government to provide standards
  • Work with Woods Staff on mapping and analytical projects
  • Support Woods staff with LRM and GIS tasks
  • Generate and provide LRM reports for all forestry applications
  • Work with other licensees and consultants to ensure data exchange standards are maintained

You have:

  • Graduation from an accredited post-secondary GIS program
  • Experience using ESRI’s ArcGIS, Geodatabase, ArcSDE, FME
  • Understanding of RDBMS principles (esp. Oracle) and SQL
  • Some programming skills, in Python or other language
  • A clear communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytic and management skills
  • Familiarity with data management systems such as Land and Resource Manager (LRM) would be an asset
  • Forestry education or forest industry background would be an asset

Compensation Package:

  • The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The yearly salary range is between $66,000 and $77,000.
  • Annual bonus opportunity
