Job Summary

The Team
Join our established Acute Care Legislation and Policy team, where you’ll collaborate with a dedicated Director, Manager, and two senior policy analysts. Our team is deeply committed to shaping and implementing provincial policies that enhance the quality, safety, and cultural responsiveness of hospital and acute care services. By working closely with health authority VPs, executive leaders, and policy analysts across divisions, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that all patients in BC receive the care they need in a safe and respectful environment. The team is not only knowledgeable but also highly supportive, making it an excellent environment for professional growth.

The Role
In this role, you will have autonomy over all parts of the policy cycle, from research and analysis to development, implementation, and evaluation. You will play a critical role in improving hospital services by developing responses to public inquiries, supporting the work of various Ministry areas, and ensuring culturally sensitive care across BC’s hospitals. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in public administration, business administration, health administration, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field; and a minimum of 2 years of related experience. OR,
  • Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business administration, health administration, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field; and a minimum of 3 years of related experience. OR,
  • Diploma in public administration, business administration, health administration, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field; and a minimum of 4 years of related experience. OR,
  • No degree/diploma and a minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Recent related experience must include:

  • Experience in the development of legislation, regulation and policy.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
  • Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.
  • Experience working with processes relating to the development of legislation and regulation in the public interest.
  • Experience working with ministry mandate, service plan, legislation, programs and initiatives.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience leading the development of policies.
  • Experience researching and analyzing policy and making recommendations to senior leadership
  • Experience leading development of legislation and regulations.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience doing partner consultations.
  • Lived experience working with Indigenous communities and people.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
