Overview

We are looking for two prevention information assistants to receive and respond to province wide WorkSafeBC calls. As a member of the call-center, the prevention information assistant is to screen and probe for information from callers and forward calls when appropriate; monitor and maintain a variety of mailboxes and databases on a daily basis; perform a variety of support, administrative, and associated projects and duties as assigned for various departments and personnel within WES Prevention Services and other departments within WorkSafeBC

Where you’ll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you’ll work primarily from home but will be required to work onsite in the Richmond office once a quarter.

What you’ll do

  • Handle incoming phone inquiries on workplace health and safety by probing for information needed to interpret the caller’s inquiry or concern, summarizing caller information, and communicating the information to the appropriate person for action
  • Access a variety of databases and software to prioritize, record, and assign caller inquiries by following a specific set of guidelines and procedures outlined by the department
  • Organize and maintain files, records, and informational materials and generate reports from various databases as required

  • Explain information in a professional manner, both orally and in writing
  • Organize, prioritize, and manage a high volume, varied workload in an environment that includes changing priorities, time demands, and frequent interruptions
  • Build and maintain rapport with a variety of individuals, sometimes in sensitive or difficult circumstances

Your background and experience

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Proficient use of MS Word

Salary : $28.07/hourly
