General Accountabilities

  • The candidate will focus on counterparty credit risk measures (PFE, settlement, collateral knowledge) critical to business decisions. The candidate will develop and improve key processes related to assessing and reporting risk measures and establish and maintain productive relationships with the lines of business (trading, risk oversight, portfolio management, and upper management).
  • Supports the research and development of quantitative risk modelling methodologies and related strategies to manage risks arising from business/group portfolios and products.
  • Applies knowledge of analytics algorithms and technologies to maintain forward-looking models and analytic solutions to identify risks properly.

Specific accountabilities:

  • Develop and apply scripting/programming to automate processes which serve a variety of tasks ranging from data gathering to generating automated reports.
  • Calculate counterparty credit risk on non-standard deals with unique features on time.
  • Liaise with trading, line of business, risk oversight, infrastructure, model team and operations to ensure proper deal understanding and resolve any specific deal-related problems.
  • Provide assistance in ad-hoc projects/trading requests within the group.
  • Work with the market risk oversight, stress, capital, and reporting teams to deliver the regulatory reports and stressed exposure results.

ROLE DIMENSIONS:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge:

  • Quantitative (computer science and/or mathematical and/or statistical );
  • Finance;
  • Economics;
  • Financial markets and products;
  • Programming – Proficient with Python. Better to know Django, PowerBI, SQL, and VBA;
  • Understanding and experience with risk management methodologies and measurement systems;

Skills:

  • 1 and up years of related work experience, preferably in a financial institution
  • MSc in a technical field, e.g., quantitative finance, statistics, engineering, applied mathematics, quantitative finance
  • Good understanding and experience with risk management methodologies (PFE related), financial markets, and products
  • Excellent analytic and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams

Salary :

$65,400.00 – $121,800.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
