Senior Accountant

Horizon Recruitment Inc.?has an excellent opportunity to?join a dynamic team as a?Senior Accountant?with an up and coming tech-enabled service company based in downtown Vancouver. Working primarily remotely, this person will own the full-cycle accounting process and work with leadership to help develop financial systems, streamline procedures, and deliver key financial insights.

Responsibilities:

• Manage financial reporting, reporting, general ledger, and journal entries
• Oversee core accounting functions including revenue recognition and cash management
• Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Board, creditors, and management
• Develop and maintain robust financial systems, policies, procedures, and controls
• Handle accounting for stock-based compensation
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and reporting requirements
• Provide financial guidance and support for growth and scaling
• Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
• Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving measures

Requirements:

• 6 years of accounting experience, including 3 years of full-cycle accounting
• CPA designation (Canadian or US)
• Expertise in technical accounting, especially within technology sectors
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• Proactive problem-solving abilities
• Experience with multi-currency, multi-entity accounting, and consolidations
• Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct)
• Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and reporting requirements
• Capable of working independently in a remote setting while staying connected with the team

Rewards:

• $85-95k
