Overview

As the Manager, Enterprise Measurement & Experimentation, you will report to the Sr. Director, Enterprise Data Strategy & Services, and will primarily be responsible for leading the evolution and broader adoption of the organizational measurement & experimentation frameworks, and the design and implementation of iterative enterprise-level business model experiments.

The scope of this position includes developing, maintaining, and communicating organizational measurement & experimentation frameworks; identifying and communicating gaps and opportunities in the application of the measurement & experimentation frameworks; and assessing measures for alignment and credibility. The role also leads the design, exploration, piloting, assessment, and recommendation of cross-divisional data-driven process changes resulting from outcome-based evidence collected from lean and effectively measured experiments.

Where you’ll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you’ll work primarily from our Richmond office, with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.

What you’ll do

As a manager, enterprise measurement & experimentation you will:

  • Manage the operations of the enterprise measurement & experimentation team within Enterprise Data Strategy & Services to ensure effective delivery of enterprise-level services to the WorkSafeBC executive office.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of strategy, standards, and practices by developing and implementing departmental business plans to support and achieve the division’s strategic objectives. Monitor and adjust activities to meet business plan objectives and to respond to changing conditions.
  • Ensure that WorkSafeBC and divisional policies, procedures, and standards are appropriately implemented within assigned area. Provide advice, guidance, and direction to assigned staff and others on policies, business plans, and operational matters relating to enterprise measurement and experimentation.
  • Develop, implement, and evolve a comprehensive enterprise measurement & experimentation framework; establish standards for measurement & experimental evidence; facilitate a measure registry; and assess data and measurement maturity.
  • Connect all parts of the organization through an organizational measurement network, ensuring logical and/or empirical links that connect outputs, decisions, and actions through to stakeholder outcomes.
  • Facilitate the identification and documentation of new outcome measures; inform and influence new data investments.
  • Design, coordinate, and evaluate potential experiments with new business models, and any related interventions; collect experimental evidence and assess for impacts on immediate and stakeholder outcomes.
  • Maintain a deep level of technical knowledge and expertise, particularly in business process improvement, performance measurement, experimental design, and statistical analysis.

  • Lead organizational measurement strategy, the measurement & experimentation framework, awareness initiatives, education on the importance and methods of efficient, effective, and complete measurement.
  • Provides support to internal clients as standards and opportunities prioritized by the executive office are developed and adopted. Identify, follow up, and/or respond to clients’ needs and areas of concern, taking appropriate action to quickly resolve issues.
  • Participate as a member of the management team of the department in business planning activities related to enterprise measurement and experimentation and provide input into planning, implementing changes and initiatives as required. Work closely with and in collaboration with other divisional and WorkSafeBC managers in planning, program development, or operational activities.
  • Manage and direct assigned staff in maintaining high levels of professionalism and in achieving divisional priorities and objectives. Hire, orient, evaluate, discipline, and terminate staff as required. Assign work, set performance goals, and provide feedback, coaching and developmental planning to support and motivate staff in meeting expectations.
  • Create a supportive and healthy working environment within the department by providing support, ensuring effective communication, promoting teamwork, providing opportunities for staff involvement in planning, and recognizing employees’ contributions and achievements. Assist and support staff as changes and new initiatives are implemented in the workplace.
  • Foster a constructive labour relations environment within the department team by dealing proactively with issues. Administers the provisions of the collective agreement and handles grievances at the informal level.

Your background and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in one or more related data & analytics disciplines
  • A minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience, including experience managing a team of professionals in data & analytics, business process design & reengineering.
  • Demonstrated success as an effective leader reflecting the WorkSafeBC Leadership Values and Competencies.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information, influence organizational change, build effective relationships and work collaboratively.
  • Knowledge and experience in business operations and data and analytics. Must possess project management skills with experience and knowledge of effective business management and improvement strategies.
  • Technically proficient in data and analytics. Working knowledge of analytics technologies and Microsoft Office technologies.
  • We’ll consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: $127,804 – $155,281/annually
