Who – the Company:
Our client is a well-established healthcare NPO with over 50 years of dedication to compassionate service. They are committed to supporting and caring for those in need.
What – the Role:
The Payroll & HR Administrator will report to the CEO and Accounting Manager, managing the entire payroll function and assisting with related HR and accounting tasks, including benefits administration. This role is part of a corporate & admin team of 10, supporting a total staff of 70 (primarily unionized, front-line workers).
- Full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union staff.
- Daily timecard review, payroll audits, and coding verification.
- Administer time off policies, WSBC, and disability claims.
- Oversee benefits applications and annual T4s and T4As.
- Maintain payroll records and confidential files, assist in process improvements.
- Provide support with clerical and administrative tasks and address payroll/HR inquiries.
- Generate and analyze various employee and system reports.
Who – the Candidate:
We’re looking for a skilled payroll professional with experience in small to mid-sized organizations, ideally with healthcare and/or NPO and unionized settings. Compassion and alignment with the organization’s values are essential. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant payroll experience is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of ADP, payroll processing, and Canadian tax laws.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Solid grasp of HR principles, benefits administration, and collective agreements.
- Independent worker with minimal supervision required.
- COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.
Where:
Burnaby, BC, conveniently accessible by public transit. This role requires primarily full time in-office work.
How Much:
Competitive salary range of $65,000-$70,000 based on experience, with strong health/dental benefits and 3 weeks of vacation.
