Job Summary
The Team
At the Prince Rupert Crown Counsel Office, you’ll join an established team of professionals, including Legal Clerks, Legal Assistants, Senior Legal Analysts, and Paralegals. The Role
As a Legal Assistant, you will support Crown Counsel in preparing prosecution case files for court proceedings. Working under the supervision of Crown Counsel and the Office Manager, you will perform a variety of legal services in a high-profile and fast-paced office. Your role requires flexibility, teamwork, tact, diplomacy, communication, and strong organizational skills to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely completion of responsibilities.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent;
- Successful completion of a recognized Legal Assistant certificate OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
- Administrative experience, including:
- Office experience working in a confidential capacity;
- Experience typing, drafting, formatting, proofreading and editing a variety of documents;
- Experience developing and maintaining administrative systems, procedures and standards.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Successful completion of a Legal Assistant or Paralegal certificate or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of administrative experience.
- At least 1 year of recent experience (within the last 3 years) working as a Legal Assistant in a legal office.
- Experience managing calendars, scheduling meetings and making travel arrangements;
- Recent experience (within the last 3 years) working for the BC Prosecution Service.
- Experience working in the criminal justice sector.

About this Position:
This position is based out of the location listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established for future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
