Job Summary
The Team
The Connectivity Division comprises of over 40 multidisciplinary experts, including telecom engineers, data analysts, policy analysts, Indigenous relations advisors and communications specialists, all committed to bringing high-speed internet to communities across B.C. by 2027.
The Connected Communities branch supports the Connectivity Division by providing evidence-based reports, metrics and data, along with technical assistance to communities. We create engaging communications for both internal and external partners to highlight the benefits of connectivity and its positive impact on health, education, safety and overall well-being in B.C. Our team operates in a collaborative and supportive environment, with a shared commitment to empowering individuals and communities across the province to harness the advantages of connectivity.
The Role
As the Innovation Strategist, you will report to the Senior Policy Analyst and play a crucial role in generating data and statistical analyses for publications that highlight the progress being made to connect every B.C. household to high-speed internet by 2027. Your intrapreneurial mindset will enable you to effectively bridge data and research, while your strong data visualization skills will help the team translate complex concepts into actionable insights. You will advise on technology options that enable effective collaboration with both internal and external partners, and lead presentations that translate complex data into easy-to-understand formats. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree in business administration, public administration, or related field; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Must include a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in each of the following:
- Researching and conducting policy and business analysis and making clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Developing and presenting complex ideas in a visual manner to leadership.
- Analyzing complex data in Microsoft Excel.
- Providing communications support including using data visualization and graphics skills for presentations, infographics, websites, one-pagers, handouts/brochures, etc.
Preferences:
- Experience working with Microsoft Power BI and creating dashboards to explain complex data.
- Experience working in large complex organizations or within a government organization in a data environment.
- Experience participating in and/or leading engagement sessions with ministry partners and external groups.

The position headquarters will be Victoria, Surrey, Richmond, Vancouver or Prince George.
