Job Summary
The Team
The Offshore School Program Team is a collaborative and established group of five members, including a Director, Program Coordinator, Policy Analyst, Inspections Coordinator, and Program Management Analyst. This team oversees the certification and regulation of 37 schools across 12 jurisdictions worldwide, supporting the delivery of BC’s curriculum internationally. The team also works closely with other teams across the Ministry to ensure that BC’s Offshore School Program aligns with provincial educational education standards and requirements.
The Role
As the Policy Analyst, Offshore School Program, you will independently manage policy development projects focused on reviewing and revising ministry programs and regulation, supporting the creation of new programs and policies, and helping manage relationships with foreign jurisdictions and dignitaries. You’ll conduct policy analysis, prepare reports, and develop recommendations aligned with Ministry priorities. This position offers the exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic field of international education, engage with people across the globe, and gain valuable experience through interactions with school stakeholders worldwide.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree in social sciences, business or public administration, international relations, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum two (2) years experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
- Minimum two (2) years experience managing projects and/or project components.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience working in the education sector, particularly at the K-12 level in British Columbia or Canada.
- Experience in the K-12 international education sector.
- Experience working, living or studying in an international environment and/or other demonstrated intercultural competence.

About this Position:
This position can be based out of any of the locations listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to five (5) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
There is currently a temporary opportunity available until March 31, 2025, this temporary opportunity may become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
