Job Summary

The Team
The service design team is a diverse team of 12 with various backgrounds. The team is made up of a Director, Team leads and service design specialists. Using a foundation of human-centered service and design research we help provide better services to citizens. As an internal consultant for government services, we partner with ministries on a fee-for service basis. We provide guidance and build the capacity of ministry staff to take human-centred approach to service design and delivery. Our diverse and supportive team are passionate about service design and progressing our skills.

The Role
As a Service Design Specialist, you’ll work with the Service Design team to provide expertise and human centric solutions to service design, user experience design and digital services. You facilitate user research in many forms and work to reorient organizations and services around user needs. This position works closely with ministry program areas to build an end-to-end, and front (user experience) to back (organizational systems) understanding of government services. Your work will inform change with an engaged team passionate about growth and their work.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Service Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science, Social Sciences or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
  • Training and/or experience specializing in one of the following:
    • design/user research, UX design, interaction design, prototyping, information architecture or content strategy.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience utilizing user-centred design methods to design and deliver services, including experience in design/user research, UX design, interaction design, prototyping, information architecture or content strategy, or an equivalent combination of related experience, education or training.

Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
