Job Summary
The Team
The Professional Conduct Unit of the Teacher Regulation Branch is a highly professional and collaborative team responsible for overseeing the integrity of the K-12 teaching profession. With 18 team members, including 10 investigators from diverse backgrounds, our established team investigates reports, coordinates disciplinary actions, and ensures transparency through publication of discipline outcomes and the maintenance of a public teacher registry. Working closely with intake officers, legal counsel, and senior officials, we play a key role in promoting quality and accountability within the teaching profession, ensuring that all students have access to qualified and responsible educators and safe learning environments.
The Role
In this Investigator role at the Teacher Regulation Branch, you’ll have the rewarding opportunity to manage a variety of investigations, ensuring fairness and following the guidelines of the Teachers Act. Your work will play a key role in protecting students and maintaining the integrity of the education system by conducting thorough and impartial investigations. You’ll be part of a skilled, supportive team, connecting with diverse communities across the province, all while making a real difference in students’ lives.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree in a related discipline, such as law, education, regulatory investigations, or criminology; or an unrelated degree with a diploma/certification in a related discipline and three (3) years of related investigative/regulatory experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working on and independently managing case files in a regulatory or legal setting.
- Experience interviewing for the purpose of finding facts, preferably in a sensitive or hostile environment.

About this Position:

Flexible work options are available, this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
