WHAT YOU’LL DO…
MAKR Group is looking for a Communication and Content Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing content for the MAKR Group, with a particular focus on elevating MAKR’s working brands: Waterplay, and Wekid Manufacturing.

At MAKR we BUiLD FUN and in this role you will be responsible for creating content for our websites, printed collateral, social channels, internal and external communications, brand voice, email, digital, and traditional campaigns. Put on your brand police badge because you’ll be the head honcho when it comes to positioning and messaging across all areas of earned, owned and paid media.

You’ll lead the charge in managing the MAKR universe’s content strategy and calendar and
will work with an amazing team to support the production and editing of tailored visual
content for digital channels as well as social media.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Content Development and Strategy: Create and manage communications content across online and offline channels to boost brand awareness and engagement.
– Brand Voice Management: Ensure consistency in brand messaging and voice across all content for each brand.
– Social Media Ownership: Develop compelling social media content that aligns with our brand voice and values.
– Campaign Creation: Collaborate with brand managers to create integrated marketing campaigns that leverage content across various platforms.
– Marketing Materials: Assist in creating brochures, presentations, and press releases.
– Product Communications: Craft compelling product marketing materials to bring new products to life to our global customers.
– SEO Optimization: Implement SEO best practices to ensure content visibility and searchability for each brand.
– Performance Analysis: Monitor and report on content performance using data-driven insights to optimize future strategies.
– Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to inform content strategies for each brand.
– Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to team members on brand-specific content guidelines and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
– Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism
– Minimum 2 years’ experience in copywriting
– Experience in content ownership
– Comfortable and current with online marketing techniques and best practices
– Experience in working with Adobe Creative Suite tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
– Experience in video production, editing, and image capture for social media
– Ability to manage relationships with external suppliers / agencies
– Intermediate knowledge of Google Analytics

OTHER INFORMATION:
– This is an on-site position located in Kelowna, BC. (805 Crowley Ave, Kelowna, BC).
– This position works Monday to Friday, eight-hour days.
