Job Summary

The Team:
The Bulkley-Stikine Admin Team provides excellent financial and administrative support services. The Role:
The Senior District Clerk works closely with the District Services Manager and District Clerk to provide excellent support to our operations. This role manages accounts payable, handles contract documentation, and responds to public enquiries, while also providing guidance to other District Clerks. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career within the BC Public Service and be part of a dynamic, innovative team.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (e.g.: GED) and one (1) year of experience in administration, accounts receivable/payable, bookkeeping and/or contract administration; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or both of the following:

  • Experience in the following computer applications: Oracle, Corporate Accounting System (CAS), Capital Program System (CPS), Time and Leave (TLAM) and Hired Equipment Tracking System (HETS).
  • Supervisory experience.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available in Smithers.
This location receivesa bi-weekly isolation allowance .
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in Smithers.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
