Job Summary

The Team
The AgriStability Verification team is an established group of 11 dedicated professionals in Kelowna. Our team includes management, administrative, technical, and verification roles, all working collaboratively to support BC agricultural producers through the AgriStability program. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with verification specialists, production insurance representatives, and management from the Business Risk Management Branch. Together, we make a meaningful impact by providing essential risk management services that help stabilize the agriculture sector in British Columbia. The Role
As a Verification Specialist you will verify benefits and calculate support for our clients, while building strong customer relationships through clear communication. Your work directly impacts BC agriculture producers by helping stabilize their farm income and manage risks associated with significant income declines. This role provides a rewarding chance to make a meaningful impact in supporting the agriculture sector. By helping producers navigate their income and expenses, you’ll play a vital role in promoting the long-term sustainability of the BC agriculture industry.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in a related science or business field (i.e., agriculture, accounting, business administration, economics, etc.) and 2 years related, current (within last 5 to 7 years) and progressive experience in agricultural risk management programs (income stabilization or production insurance), the agricultural sector, or financial sector.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, such as:
    • Master’s degree or accounting designation and 1 year related, current (within last 5 to 7 years) and progressive experience in agricultural risk management programs (income stabilization or production insurance), the agricultural sector, or financial sector.
    • Grade 12 plus post-secondary courses in agriculture or accounting and 4 years related, current (within last 5 to 7 years) and progressive experience in agricultural risk management programs (income stabilization or production insurance), the agricultural sector, or financial sector.

About this Position:
This posting is to establish an eligibility list for future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
