Job Summary

The Team
At the Ministry of Children and Family Development, our Administration Team is an integral part of an established and diverse multi-disciplinary group at The Maples. With 10-15 dedicated professionals, we focus on creating positive outcomes for children, youth, and families across BC. As part of this team, you’ll play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring our services are accessible and equitable for all communities we serve.

The Role
As the Business Administrator at The Maples, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the financial and administrative efficiency of a critical service supporting children, youth, and families in BC. You’ll provide valuable financial advice, manage budgets, and make informed decisions about resource allocation to ensure smooth service delivery. By fostering a supportive environment for staff and contributing to effective financial management, you’ll help maximize the impact of our programs, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Diploma in public administration, business administration, or financial management and 1-year related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework in public administration, business administration, or financial management and 2 years related experience; OR
  • Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and 3 years related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience within the last 5 years.

Related experience includes the following:

  • Experience in office management, budget development and administration.
  • Experience in personnel management, payroll, and leave management.
  • Experience providing financial and accounting functions.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience in Government
  • Two or more years working in an office setting
  • Training or experience in using Microsoft Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual tools.
  • Experience using the following: CRIS (Community and Residential Information System), TALM (Time and Leave Management), CAS (Corporate Accounting System) Oracle System.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
