Software Developer Engineer in Test – Java

6 month contract SDET role with a growing team delivering major technology programs to a global retail organization.

What & Why:
As a result of investment in technology our client is looking to add an SDET to their growing team.  This team is responsible for testing all the technology solutions before they are deployed to stores to enhance the guest experience. This role specifically will be supporting the QA for a new B2B platform. You would be exposed to the latest full stack technologies being built on an orchestration layer architecture.  You will be contributing to the planning and implementation for new applications and systems and improving the quality of QA best practices.  This is a great time to join this team as they are expanding rapidly.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a hybrid work model, 3 days a week in office

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

• 6 years of QA experience with 2 Years of experience working on Java and Javascript related Testing frameworks
• Demonstrated skills using code repositories like GitHub.
• Extensively worked on Front end Test automation frameworks in a micro service-based environment
• Worked on Postman API Development Environment and Other Back-end Testing Tools
• Comfortable with OOPS concepts and with SQL
• Compliance requirements such as PII, PCI & SOX
• Familiarity and experience with Shift Left testing techniques would be highly valued.
• Exposure to Docker, Jenkins, Ansible would be a nice to have
• Familiar with the basics of Messaging architectures – Preferably Kafka, would be a nice to have

Compensation: this role pays between $65-75 per hour.
