As the Site Manager of this hospital in Vancouver, you will be responsible for the site’s security operations, the supervision and direction of all Security Officers assigned to the site, including training and site orientation of all new Officers. You will also be responsible for maintaining the daily operation of the site schedule, as well as additional tasks as requested by the manager.

Shifts: Monday to Friday, 0800-1600hrs

Pay Rate: $60,000-$65,000

Responsibilities:
•Supervise the site’s assigned Security Officers and act as a resource for security issues in accordance with Paladin and hospital standards and regulatory requirements
•Ensure all site Security Officers adhere to guidelines and standards
•Supervise and assist all regular Officers with responsibilities delegated to them
•Ensure all reports are completed by end-of-shift and that each Officer submits complete and accurate shift summary reports; follow-up with inaccuracies or omissions
•Compile accurate statistics on a monthly basis based on shift reports and incident reports
•Conduct regular panic alarm system tests without fail, maintain records, and prepare incident reports and other safety and security incident documentation
•Conduct site orientation and training of new Officers, ensuring site orientation packages and officer review tests are completed within the allotted training period
•Monitor performance of Officers and document where standards are not being met
•Maintain the site schedule and training schedule, ensuring that all shifts are covered
•Assist with shift coverage where needed; maintain and update scheduling software regularly
•Remain on-call (site phone will be provided) after-hours for support during serious issues and site incidents
•Perform site patrols and desk duty, as well as respond to all necessary calls
•Complete a shift summary report for each shift you work
•Conduct monthly fire drills and security education sessions under the direction of the manager, without fail
•Conduct investigations and perform appropriate follow-ups when incidents and situations occur
•Perform other duties as needed
Requirements:
•Minimum of two years of work experience in a supervisory or managerial role in the security industry, or a combination of experience and relevant education
•Must currently hold an Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 2 certificate and be willing to complete re-certification as required
•Working knowledge of general OH&S standards and requirements
•Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate and problem solve
•Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•Effective communication (both in writing and verbally), interpersonal skills, leadership, and professionalism
•Ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment
•Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, which includes but is not limited to hands-on restraint situations, and foot patrols indoors and outdoors, up and down stairs, and over uneven ground
