Expected Salary Range: $62,081.00 – $77,600.00 – $96,999.00

Our typical hiring range will be /- 5% of the midpoint shown above

JOB SUMMARY

The Systems Administrator 1 delivers professional technical services for Platform and Product teams. This role acts as technical support working in agile teams as well as with third party vendors. Using an understanding of enterprise system solutions and the latest technical know-how, the Systems Administrator 1 works towards enabling effective integration of various applications into a unified platform.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provides junior level support to assess and anticipate client/team needs and provides advice and solutions to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Assists senior team members with planning, design, deployment, configuration, and on-going maintenance of new applications and technologies in all environments.
  • Follows documented processes for trouble shooting and issue remediation, documenting recovery and follow for root cause analysis.
  • Uses monitoring applications tools for trouble shooting issues.
  • Ensures any issues are dealt with or escalated in a timely manner.
  • Supports production and non-production environments related to the platform.
  • Supports positive relationships with internal and external teams on related matters.
  • Supports maintaining the materials needed, including maintenance of knowledgebase(s) as required.
  • Contributes to the improvement of shared processes, frameworks, and tools.
  • Learns and adapts to new technologies and methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS
A combination of education, experience, and demonstrated skills may be considered.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A University degree in a relevant discipline or a two-year college diploma;
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience.

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Foundational knowledge of Linux, Virtualization, TCPIP networking;
  • Foundational knowledge of network and server security controls to industry best practices;
  • Foundational understanding of source code and artifact management and repositories;
  • Foundational understanding of CI/CD Pipelines and Containerization;
  • Foundational understanding of business and process analysis and improvement;
  • Basic experience with load balancer techniques and Security Certificates (SSL);
  • Basic experience with troubleshooting, reviewing log files, automation and scripting
  • Basic user of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Preference may be given to individuals who have the following:

  • Understanding of Agile methodology or experience working with a cross-functional team environment would be an asset;
  • Understanding of B.C. gaming industry would be an asset.
