As part of our team, you’ll leverage PwC’s leading practice methodologies and technology tools to deliver HS advisory and assurance services, while providing insights to clients for the continuous improvement of their operational risk management processes, culture, and supporting management systems. We are looking for someone like you to build and grow our team of subject matter specialists in providing advisory services for our clients looking to design, implement, and enhance their management systems, processes, and controls. Due to continued strong demand for our services, we’re looking to expand our team of HS advisory professionals. As an applicant, it is critical that you have a proven track record working within high hazard sectors (mining, chemicals, oil and gas, transportation) either in industry or a consulting capacity. The preferred candidate will have at least 10 years of relevant experience and one or more of the following professional designations: degree in engineering, safety accreditation, CEA, or any other recognized professional designation.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of
As a Health and Safety Operational Risk Advisory Senior Manager you’ll work as part of a team of experienced HS professionals, helping to identify , asse ss, and address complex HS risks and business challenges for ongoing operations and capital projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• End-to-end client and engagement management for our advisory projects (project management; budgeting, planning, execution, reporting, file wrap-up, and close-out).
• Collaborating across PwC internal lines of business to provide HS subject matter expertise within advisory projects.
• Advising clients on key risks, potential gaps, and areas for enhancing their management systems, policies, processes, procedures, risk management methods, and controls.
• Leading and supporting business development/sales efforts, working with teams within our firm and leveraging your external network of relationships to identify and pursue opportunities, source new clients, and write proposals to grow our portfolio of clients and engagements.
• Learning and working with our current HS advisory methodologies and generating additional new tools and methodologies from your years of experience.
• Motivating and guiding engagement teams, coaching, and mentoring junior team members.
• Developing and delivering internal and external training.

Experiences and skills required
• Broad knowledge with deep safe work practice expertise across all functions and their application – Strong understanding of safe work practices and tools as applied from Reliability/Maintenance/Operations/Projects through to Procurement.
• Strong understanding of OHS Regulations and expertise working with critical-to-safety processes (Confined Space, Working from Heights, Falling Objects, Safe Work Permit systems, Hazops ), Hazard Registers, Incident Management and tracking, Safety metrics, and calculations.
• Experience working with one or more safety programs by Dupont, Hearts and Minds, process safety, etc. And substantive industry experience working within or providing advisory services or assessment services for high hazard industries such as chemicals, oil and gas, mining, power and utilities, transportation among others.
• Strong familiarity and experience with some or all of the following Standards and/or methodologies: Incident Investigation, Wolters Kluwer’s BowTie Analysis or similar, LOPA, ALARP, Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering, Process Safety Management, Safety Culture analysis among others.
• Unwavering commitment to quality with proven quality review and oversight experience.
• Ability to lead work and collaborate with international, multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong proposal writing skills and proven success to effectively meet sales targets.
• Strong report writing skills to succinctly convey observations, conclusions, recommendations, and executive summaries in a pragmatic and understandable form.
• Critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience delivering large, complex projects/ engagements along with e xceptional commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clients.
