Position Summary
The Regional Manager, Nurse Practitioners Strategic Initiatives & Support, is responsible for ensuring effective and timely functioning of key NP administration, processes, and programs, managing, and providing direction and leadership to NP administrative staff and, with direction from the Executive Director (Nurse Practitioners), providing strategic support to advocate for ongoing coordination and collaboration between the NP portfolio and Medical Affairs.
The Regional Manager provides day to-day support to other administrative and operational supports to /for Nurse Practitioners. In addition, the Regional Manager provides operational supports to the Director, Nurse Practitioners related to the recruitment, hiring and retention of Nurse Practitioners. The incumbent supports and assists in coordination of continuous professional development for / with Nurse Practitioners, coordinates internally with medical staff education, as well as provincially and with Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc). The incumbent provides recommendations on policy issues, and implements changes to ensure effectiveness, efficiencies, and risk mitigation strategies are maintained at all levels of the process. The incumbent supports and advocates for Nurse Practitioner inclusion within the health authority and across the province. In a co-leadership model, the incumbent leads within a complex matrix environment which includes medical staff, senior leaders within NH, other health authorities, Nursing policy secretariat, Ministry of advanced education, Medical Staff Associations, RCCbc and the Ministry of Health.

Qualfications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare Administration, or a related field of study, plus five (5) to seven (7) years progressive related work experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

‐Demonstrated ability to exhibit tact, discretion and confidentiality when dealing with medical staff and patient/client information.
‐Demonstrated ability to utilize a collaborative team approach with communication skills appropriate to
managing complex relationships.
‐Exceptional people skills and the ability to deal with staff at all levels, medical staff, external agencies, medical staff, and the public in an effective and professional manner.
‐Sound knowledge of the Nurse Practitioner credentialing and privileging and Medical Advisory Committee
processes.
