This market sector specializes in hydroelectric and dam projects (development, refurbishment) as well as dam safety. To meet these growth challenges, WSP is currently looking for a hydro & dams electrical engineer to join our national electrical team, located in one of our Canadian offices.

What you can expect to do here:

  • You’ll manage multidisciplinary projects in hydroelectricity and dams.
  • You’ll participate in the design of drawings, specifications, reports and other technical documents for electrical distribution (MV and LV), protection, controls and other auxiliary systems for dam and hydroelectric projects.
  • You’ll ensure that the design complies with guidelines, codes, regulations and other reference documents.
  • You’ll assist project managers in the technical planning, control and coordination of projects.
  • You’ll liaise closely with established technical teams to coordinate engineering work.
  • You’ll supervise engineering resources, including technicians and other engineers.
  • You’ll ensure quality assurance of the deliverables.
  • You’ll be managing relationships with internal and external clients and ensuring that their needs are understood and met, providing your guidance and expertise.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or other training deemed equivalent.
  • Engineer member of a professional order in a Canadian province.
  • Six (6) years or more of relevant experience in the field.
  • Sense of initiative, proactivity, resourcefulness, autonomy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in electrical auxiliary services for hydroelectric plants and dams will be considered an asset.
  • Multidisciplinary knowledge will be considered as an asset.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): 103 100 $- 141 700$
