This role is responsible for identifying emerging digital trends, conceptualizing innovative technology advisory offerings, and implementing strategies that position WSP Canada as a leader in digital transformation. The strategist will work closely with all business units, leveraging internal expertise while introducing cutting-edge digital advisory models to meet client needs and drive profitability. Ultimately, this position is tasked with scaling the digital advisory business line, ensuring its profitability, scalability, and market relevance.

What you can expect to do here:

Strategic Development of Digital Advisory Services:

Collaborate with each department to identify and assess current service offerings and explore potential digital and technology advisory services that can be developed and commercialized.

Lead the development of new digital advisory service offerings, ensuring alignment with WSP Canada’s core services and evolving market demands.

Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify high-demand digital advisory services and opportunities for growth in the technology sector.

Develop comprehensive digital advisory methodologies, frameworks, and delivery models to standardize and enhance new service offerings.

Go-to-Market Strategy and Execution:

Design and implement go-to-market strategies specifically tailored for digital and technology advisory services, including innovative pricing models, targeted digital marketing campaigns, and sales enablement tools.

Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to ensure successful market penetration and client acquisition for digital advisory services.

Forge and maintain strategic partnerships with technology firms and platforms to expand service delivery capabilities and enhance the digital advisory value proposition.

Profit and Loss Management:

Take full responsibility for the P&L of the digital advisory services business line, with a strong focus on maximizing revenue growth and profitability.

Continuously monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and refine strategies to meet or exceed financial targets.

Develop and implement cost management and efficiency improvement strategies within digital advisory service delivery.

Innovation and Technology-Driven Advisory Models:

Identify and drive opportunities to integrate emerging technologies and digital tools into advisory service delivery processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and client outcomes.

Lead initiatives to develop innovative digital advisory models, leveraging the latest technology trends to differentiate WSP Canada’s offerings and enhance service quality.

Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging digital technologies, ensuring WSP Canada remains a leader in digital advisory innovation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership:

Act as a strategic advisor to department leaders, providing insights and recommendations on digital service development and market positioning.

Facilitate cross-functional brainstorming sessions to generate new digital advisory ideas and refine existing offerings.

Provide leadership and direction to project teams involved in the development and launch of new digital advisory services.

Reporting and Stakeholder Communication:

Prepare and present detailed reports to the executive team, highlighting the progress of digital advisory service development, market performance, and financial results.

Communicate the strategic importance and value proposition of new digital advisory services to internal stakeholders, ensuring organizational alignment and support.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in digital strategy, technology consulting, or a related field, with a proven track record of developing and commercializing digital advisory services.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of digital transformation, emerging technologies, and their application in business contexts.
    • Proficiency in market research and analysis, with the ability to identify trends and opportunities in the digital and technology sectors.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects from conception to execution.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex digital concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking:
    • Proven ability to develop and implement go-to-market strategies for digital and technology advisory services.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically to drive innovation and business growth.
    • Ability to stay ahead of industry trends and continuously adapt to the evolving digital landscape.
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Certification in digital transformation, project management, or related areas is a plus.
    • Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment is highly desirable.
    • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and stakeholders.
