Want to use your expertise to connect to an IT career with a difference? As a Cloud Systems Engineer II within our organization, you’ll do just that. Using leading-edge technology, you’ll help connect British Columbians to healthy and safe workplaces – providing support for injury prevention programs, rehabilitation services, workplace insurance, and strong health and safety cultures.

Our Cloud Services team is managing one of the largest cloud environments in British Columbia. In this role, you’ll contribute to the operational direction and development of roadmaps related to cloud infrastructure architecture. You’ll collaborate with teams to support and direct the engineering efforts for WorkSafeBC’s cloud and infrastructure technologies. If you enjoy working with fellow EDO Platform team members to achieve balance between strategic design and tactical needs, we’re looking for someone like you.

How you’ll make a difference: You’ll use leading edge tech to connect people to healthy and safe workplaces.

In this role, you’ll work primarily from your B.C. home and at a minimum of once per month in our Richmond office.

What you’ll do

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of cloud architectures for all infrastructure technologies across our Cloud, application, and database environments
  • Implement the target and reference architectures, contribute to architecture reviews and selection efforts, including strategy for interdependencies of multiple data and application stacks
  • Support the development of enterprise architectures by contributing to the definition of target or solution architecture, architecture reviews, and selection efforts
  • Implement and improve multiple cloud technology patterns that incorporate compute and storage infrastructure, database and application technologies and support network technologies including cloud LAN, WAN, and VPN
  • Create and maintain automation scripts and automated test cases for the deployment pipeline in the enterprise cloud environment
  • Support the technologies for continuous build, integration, and deployment of software into a cloud provider environment

Your background and experience

  • An undergraduate degree in computer science or a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) field
  • A minimum of six years of experience in progressively complex roles, including various areas of infrastructure design and support or software development, inclusive of one year of experience in cloud technologies

Salary: $48.47-52.35/hourly
