The Team

The Role
As an Applications Manager, you will lead a talented team of IT professionals in designing, developing, and managing core GCPE applications that directly enhance the services provided to the public. Your leadership will drive innovation, ensuring that essential digital services operate smoothly and effectively, making a tangible difference in the lives of people across BC. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects in an inclusive environment that values collaboration, creativity, and continuous professional growth.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree, diploma, certification in the computer science field, or significant related experience in the IM/IT field.
  • 5 years experience in technical operations in a complex application environment, supporting a large, diverse, corporate applications.
  • Experience with managing, developing and implementing improvements in a software team that provides hands-on technology development and solutions of small to large scale and custom-built technology-dependant systems.
  • Experience with translating strategic plans and business transformation initiatives into concrete changes to technology-dependent systems and implementing changes into an operational environment.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and supervising staff and providing advice to software teams.
  • Experience with building relationships and maintaining effective communication with users, teams and vendors.
  • Experience with technical architecture, service design and software development.
  • Experience identifying risks and leading the collaboration to mitigate and manage them to resolution.

Preferences

  • Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives within IT operations.

About this Position:
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved Telework Agreement.The position headquarters will be Victoria, Vancouver, Surrey, Richmond or Prince George.
