Horizon Recruitment Inc.?has been engaged to find an?Accounting Clerk?to join our local distribution client. This person will be responsible for managing the AP/AR function including collections and general bookkeeping. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to kick start their career in accounting or are looking for a stable position where they can continue their career. This is a?6 month contract to perm opportunity, and if taken perm will be given more responsibilities within the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

  • Owning the accounts receivable function (invoicing, collections, and processing payments), including related AP freight invoicing.
  • Prepare and process bank deposits, as needed.
  • Reconcile and facilitate warranty receivable inventory related items and coordinate with supply chain on recovery efforts.
  • Assisting with period closing journal entries (fixed asset depreciation, prepaid expense recognition, various accruals etc.).
  • Assisting the senior accountant with financial and tax audits.
  • Documenting and monitoring internal controls in support of auditing team.
  • Reception greeting & coordinating coffee and stationary orders.
  • Producing ad-hoc reports as requested.
  • Prepare and reconcile all credit card statements, working with CC holders to ensure policy adherence.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and high stress environment.
  • Accounts receivable, AP freight invoices, and collections experience would be considered an asset but not required.
  • Experience processing bank deposits.
  • Strong communication skills and positive attitude.

Rewards:

  • $20/hr – $25/hr
