Position Overview:

The Computer Install Technician is responsible for deploying and retiring IT hardware in our branch or client locations. This may involve physical installation, transfer of settings or data, configuration and software installation, or training and support for PCs, laptops, carts, printers and peripherals.. As part of your primary responsibilities, you will also serve as a Delivery Driver, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service to our clients. This involves skid deliveries, hand bombing, and updating delivery ticket statuses in our systems.

This position may require some travel in the Okanagan region and will require presence on client sites such as healthcare, government, and post-secondary institutions. It will also require some travel and presence on client sites such as healthcare, government, and post-secondary institutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Software and network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Software installation
  • Printer/peripheral installation
  • Diagnose, repair, and upgrade PC software and equipment
  • Image workstation for new deployments
  • Respond to customer inquiries
  • Record-keeping and asset management
  • Support other departments as necessary, depending on workload
  • Work proactively to ensure that services delivery is aligned to the client needs
  • Delivering computer and/or printer orientation
  • Provide timely deliveries and customer service to our clients
  • Updating delivery tickets status in our systems
  • Verify that all deliveries are correct prior to accepting any shipments
  • Organize and load product for delivery on assigned route
  • Obtain product receipt paperwork as applicable
  • Accept returns from customer and return to warehouse
  • Place product in return area with appropriate documentation


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum: High School Diploma / GED (experience with computers, electronics, mechanics, etc. is desired)
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive customer service
  • Preferred: College Diploma / Associate Degree (technical field) or equivalent certification
  • 1 year of experience in an enterprise/business IT environment
  • Knowledge of desktop hardware, preferably from an enterprise or business environment
  • Knowledge of software installation and troubleshooting in a Windows environment
  • Experience in PC assembly or repair
  • CompTIA A Certification (or similar) is considered an asset
  • Vendor-specific hardware certification is desired
  • Presentation and training skills is an asset


Position Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check (CPIC)
  • Must have driver’s license and access to own vehicle
  • Must be able to drive a 5 Tonne Cube, 1 Tone Cube & Cargo Vans
  • Forklift certified is considered an asset

Compensation and Benefits:

In accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act the range for this role for BC residents is between $18 to $21 per hour
