Expected Salary Range: $53,060.00 – $66,324.00 – $82,905.00

Job Summary:

The Business Centre Representative oversees the effective day-to-day operations of the Business Centre. The role works closely with internal customers to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of Business Centre job requests ensuring that jobs are appropriately branded and completed in a cost effective manner. The Business Centre Representative coordinates all job requests; prioritizing, assigning and reviewing to ensure customer expectations are met. Additionally, the role is responsible for supporting corporate document design projects from a design and desktop publishing perspective.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partners with Creative Services and Corporate Communications on corporate document design projects.
  • Applies desktop publishing skills, and graphic design software knowledge for the purpose of setting up files for the pre-production phase of the print production process.
  • Negotiates cost savings and provide cost analysis to internal customers.
  • Identifies opportunities to evolve our products and services through innovation in process, equipment improvements and work flows.
  • Multitasks, re-prioritizes and manages competing job requests depending on deadlines and manage customer expectations through proactive and timely communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Works closely with internal customers to understand job requirements and to provide feedback on BCLC brand compliance and opportunities to complete the job in a cost effective manner.
  • Acts as the final quality assurance checkpoint to ensure a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail on all job requests.
  • Day to day operations including completing intermediate to high level job requests, machine maintenance, arranging service calls to various vendors.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma;
  • 2 – 3 years of related experience in a progressive business centre or desktop support environment;
  • Operational experience with Xerox Make Ready or Process Manager software would be an asset;
  • Experience working with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat and Photoshop in a desktop publishing and design capacity;
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

  • Excellent organization skills and proven ability to effectively multitask;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation;
  • Ability to work closely with others internally and externally in a highly collaborative environment;
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently;
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Word (styles usage, mail merges), Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, and Illustrator;
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with equipment used in a Business Centre environment – i.e. Plotter, Multifunction
