Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle using Agile development principles/practices
  • Work with Product Managers to design and implement new capabilities
  • Break large projects into smaller pieces and execute against a delivery plan
  • Own the quality of the services we maintain by implementing automated tests for each new feature, suggesting improvements to test strategy, and proactively identify production defects using monitoring and alerting tools such as Dynatrace, Kibana watchers, Synthetic tests, and Sysdig
  • Collaborate with teammates on large projects
  • Debug di icult production issues across multiple teams

Required Skills:

  • NGINX: 3 years of experience in configuring, managing, and optimizing NGINX (or equivalent) as a reverse proxy to ensure e icient routing and load balancing of web tra ic.
  • Scripting: 3 years of experience developing and maintaining scripts (including but not limited to Bash and Lua, or equivalent) for various automation and operational tasks.
  • CI/CD: 3 years of experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (or equivalent) to streamline deployment processes. Familiarity with git is a strong plus.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: 3 years of experience managing cloud resources such EC2 instances, AMIs, and Auto Scaling Groups to ensure scalable and resilient infrastructure. AWS experience is a plus, but Azure or Google Cloud Platform experience is also acceptable. Familiarity with an infrastructure as code solution like Cloud Formation is a strong plus
  • Debugging: 3 years of experience in debugging web request issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

Desired Skills

  • Development and maintenance of NGINX modules using Lua for custom functionality.
  • CDN Integration: Familiarity with integrating with a major CDN provider, including implementing and managing custom edge logic. Experience with Akamai is a strong plus.
  • mTLS Authentication: Familiarity with the support and configuration of mutual TLS (mTLS) authentication for secure client-server communication is a strong plus.
  • Web Security: Familiarity with Akamai Web Application Firewall (WAF) in order to ensure compliance with web security best practices, including OWASP guidelines.
  • Automation: Familiarity with using Ansible (or equivalent) for configuration management and automation of infrastructure tasks.

SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 71,000 – 150,800 CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount, and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
