Job Summary

The Team

The Patient and Client Relations Writing Team consists of eight individuals who each bring unique backgrounds and experiences to their work. Our team is a mix of experienced and developing writers who are passionate about serving the public by ensuring they have access to the most current information and resources available. In this role you will engage with both health authorities and other program areas within the Ministry of Health.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for responding to patient-centered complaints, questions, and concerns on behalf of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions. By helping citizens navigate the healthcare system, you will contribute to a healthier and better-informed public. This is an exciting opportunity to become a vital link between British Columbians and the provincial government, providing clarity and support on important healthcare issues through thoughtful written correspondence and casework briefings.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Health Science Administration, or a related field plus 1 year of recent, related experience; OR
  • Diploma in Public or Health Science Administration or a related field plus 3 years of recent, related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework in Public or Health Science Administration or a related field plus 4 years of recent, related experience; OR
  • No degree and a minimum of 5 years of recent, related experience.

Recent, related experience must include all of the following:

  • Responding to service issues and recommending remedial measures.
  • Experience in a client environment.
  • Experience in researching, writing and providing correspondence.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience with mental health and addictions.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is for one (1) permanent opportunities.
