Job Summary

The Team
The Home and Community Care Analytics Team plays a vital role in supporting the Ministry of Health through data analysis, quality assurance, and reporting for provincial home and community care programs. The team consists of two main units, with the Operations Unit focusing on data management, quality assurance, and system improvements. As part of an established, professional, and supportive environment, you’ll work closely with internal and external partners to enhance data quality and contribute to meaningful health initiatives.

The Role
This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the delivery of home and community care services across the province. You’ll be part of a supportive, skilled team working with extensive data sources from the Ministry of Health, applying your expertise to ensure high-quality services for people with acute, chronic, palliative, or rehabilitative needs. As demand grows, you’ll play a crucial role in improving health outcomes, while developing your own skills and making a meaningful impact on public health services.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, economics, statistics, mathematics, or closely related field, and related experience; OR
  • Diploma in data science, computer science, economics, statistics, mathematics, or closely related field, and 3 years of related experience; OR
  • Certification from a recognized institution in the related field, and 4 years related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes the following:

  • Experience in data modeling, data analysis, performance measurement techniques, and visualization.
  • Experience using relational databases, large datasets, and associated applications such as SQL, R and Python, including experience in data management principles.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting the results of complex statistical analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences; preparing briefs and communications materials.

  • Willing to keep up to date with cutting-edge techniques in machine-learning and big data analytics and find ways to advance the organization’s capabilities in analytics.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job.

About this Position:
