Job Summary

The Team
The Prince George Ministry of Children and Family Development Offices team is a caring and dedicated group of Social Workers and team leaders, each consisting of 10-15 members. This established team collaborates closely with other Social Workers, team leaders, SPOs, and partner agencies to create positive outcomes for children, families, and the community. Their commitment to providing day-to-day support with an inclusive and collaborative approach is at the heart of everything they do, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued.

The Role
As the primary point of contact for client services in a local office,, this role is a key representative of MCFD, making a meaningful first impression for individuals and families seeking support. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • One year of administrative support experience in an office environment.
  • Six months experience working in a computerized environment using various computer applications and data bases. (For example: Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel, Outlook, Lync) for word processing, spread sheeting, data entry, email and video teleconferencing; and case management or other database applications.
  • Consideration may be given for completion of an Administrative Business Skills course or program as experience equivalency for the above two experience statements.
  • Experience providing quality customer or client service, carrying out duties and responding to client needs in a professional manner.
  • Experience working independently and as a team member with a multi-disciplinary environment and with other professional staff, client, and service providers.

Preference Statements:

  • Preference may be given to applicants with administrative experience working with vulnerable children and families in a human/social services setting.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience using MCFD applications: Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or Management Information Systems (MIS) computer applications.

About this Position:
3 Positions available.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
This is a Float position and can be based in the Prince George Ministry of Children & Family Development office.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
