Job Summary

The Team
Join the Data Sharing Administration (DSA) team, a supportive and collaborative group that values innovation and continuous improvement. As part of the Agreements stream, you’ll work closely with team leads, specialists, and advisors to facilitate data sharing initiatives between the Ministry of Health and external parties such as the health authorities and academic researchers. This established team applies the principles of data stewardship, prioritizing the sharing and use of data for the public good while maintaining appropriate and necessary privacy protections.

The Role
As a Senior Data Sharing Advisor you’ll lead key initiatives that enable secure and timely access to health data for research, monitoring, and planning purposes. You’ll prepare information sharing agreements, demonstrating compliance with legislation and harmonizing expectations for the parties to an information sharing situation. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact by advancing health data governance in B.C. We welcome candidates with a passion for connecting people to the data they need to create insights & improve efficiency and outcomes across the health sector.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’sdegree in health or research related field, information systems, social sciences or other related discipline and 3 years progressive, related experience; OR
  • Diploma in health or research related field, information systems, social sciences or other related discipline and 5 years progressive, related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and progressive, related experience may be considered.

Related experience must include:

  • Experience researching, analyzing, synthesizing, and preparing information and briefing materials for decision-makers on policy, strategic, and/or business/operational matters.
  • Experience leading diverse project teams and managing projects.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with business clients, partners and/or stakeholders.
  • Experience developing or supporting the development of policies and procedures that enable or support business/operational or strategic objectives.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience developing or supporting the development of policies or procedures that promote or support data stewardship.
  • Experience preparing, or supporting the development of information sharing agreements, contracts, Memoranda of Understanding, terms of use, or similar documentation.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 2026-01-02.This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
