Job Summary

The Team
Join the Strategic Priorities Team at BC Wildfire Service, a small, established team dedicated to aligning the organization’s goals. You’ll collaborate with leadership and communications teams, in an inclusive environment that values teamwork, motivation, and a shared sense of purpose.

The Role
In this role, you’ll facilitate work planning, quarterly reporting, and moderate the bi-weekly Priorities Forum. You’ll also maintain key reference documents while working with a wide range of staff, offering great exposure to the organization’s diverse teams in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Technical diploma in a field related to forestry, resource management, public administration business administration or equivalent knowledge plus 1 years related experience; or
  • Grade 12 or equivalent plus 3 years related experience.
  • Related experience: working in a natural resource management or emergency response environment.
  • Experience with work planning, business planning and/or strategic planning
  • Preference may be given to candidate with experience conducting research using established methodologies and techniques
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have experience creating communications materials, including website content, publications and presentations.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have facilitated and organized large meetings.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have experience using MS TEAMS and its features.

  • Valid class 5 driver’s licence
  • To be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments and corporate structures.
  • To keep current on emerging issues.
  • To take in-house training and certification as required.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
Flexible work options may not be available during emergency operations response periods.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
