Job Summary

The Team
The Thompson Okanagan Water Resources team is an established and diverse group of professionals dedicated to making evidence-based water management decisions. With a Water Projects Specialist, Fisheries Specialist, and the support of the Water Resources Section Head, this collaborative team works closely with internal and external partners, including Indigenous communities, to ensure sustainable and effective water resource management. Their work plays a vital role in advancing reconciliation and safeguarding British Columbia’s water resources for future generations.

The Role
As a Project Administrator with the Thompson Okanagan Water Resources team, you will provide vital project management support throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring water-related projects are planned, executed, and completed effectively. Your work will help guide the team in making informed decisions that balance natural resource use with protecting other environmental values. This role is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about sustainable water management and advancing reconciliation with Indigenous communities.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Experience providing project management support services, this can include training or volunteer work.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Completion of courses in project management.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until March 31, 2025.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
