Reporting to the Senior Lead, Training & Development, the Advisor, Learning & Development (L&D) will be the primary point of contact for the organization’s Leadership Development and Business Education programs. This role provides oversite and mentorship, ensuring development programs align to the One-Teck approach. The role develops, recommends, and leads both internal Teck programs and facilitates access to external resources supporting the changing needs of Teck’s operations. This motivated individual will collaborate with leaders to support Human Resources generalists looking to facilitate employee development for individuals or groups! The successful individual showcases a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and the establishment of excellent working relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Support business requests to develop and maintain various programs, ensuring effective organizational change processes are followed for changes to program content and delivery
  • Establish positive communication and build relationships with both internal and external partners to ensure a consistent One-Teck approach with L&D
  • Apply People Central Learning (Success Factors) to develop, track and record employee training and growth
    Contribute to cost control through budget preparation, managing costs and identifying areas of cost reduction related to Learning and Development
  • Demonstrate leadership and act as a mentor by ensuring the ongoing development and growth of team members
  • Own the Global Development community as the Development Subject Matter Expert, ensuring the consistent application and access to dynamic programs
  • Work collaboratively to improve the L&D programs across the company with agility, developing and revising programs and governance documentation

Qualifications:

  • Relevant post-secondary education in Human Resources management, organizational development, learning & development management, or a related field
  • 5 to 7 years of proven experience in a Human Resources role, including working with employee development in a large, dynamic organization. Experience with the company’s Leadership Development Programs is an asset
  • A highly organized self-starter with the capability to manage several projects concurrently and excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to champion working relationships throughout all levels of the organization
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • A dedicated individual with a proven track record of optimally achieving desired outcomes

Salary Range: $81,500 – $113,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
